Collaboration Workshops

Without collaboration in the workplace productivity suffers.  Period.  We do know how to collaborate.  What we need to examine is why we don't and what we are doing instead of collaborating.  Some of the collaboration workshops offered are:

Dialogue

At your workplace, who is telling the truth?  Are you?  Reciprocal trust in the workplace seems to be gone.  Gone is the sense of shared responsibility for and pride in our working environments.  We are suffering from widespread distrust and disenchantment.  Maybe people just don't want to rock the boat, or are afraid of losing their jobs.  How can trust be recaptured?  By sharing the truth.  If you feel like it's been too long since your workgroup felt safe enough to tell the truth, it's time to brush up on your dialogue skills.  The process of dialogue will recapture trust and invigorate the workplace.

Turf Wars at Work

Organizations are ablaze with battles over information, relationships and authority - and everyone is fighting for psychological survival.  These turf wars are some of the most productivity and morale-squashing activities in which employees engage.

Anyone that needs cooperation across departmental or functional boundaries needs to better understand the human dynamics that divides "us" from "them" ñ even when it is in our own best interests to work together. We need effective "weapons of silo destruction (WSDs)."  Learn the positive strategies for combating territorial behavior.

Storytelling in the Workplace

For Inspiration, Influence and Training

Give me their hearts and the rest will follow. People are in information overload. Presenting more information and data is not going to engage them differently.  What truly moves us, what prompts us into action, is emotion.  Imagination is the conduit of emotion and well-crafted storytelling carries the imagination.

Story is the oldest form of influence in human history and it still is the most powerful. It makes it possible to tell the company's basic values in an easily accessible and comprehensible way. A company ethics or risk story can help people choose wisely. Story allows employees at all levels to create images and pictures.  People remember pictures ñ and stories. Only personal experience, or a story that simulates personal experience, can help the people you wish to influence decide to trust your judgment.  Learn how to fill your organization with story.

Relationship Strategies

Relationship Strategies is a behaviorally based communication workshop. It teaches people how to communicate using the DiSC behavioral profile as a way of understanding themselves and others.  The workshop incorporates a behavioral assessment to give a more complete understanding of what DiSC is and how to use it. Participants learn how to interact with others and to appreciate others' behavioral styles within the organization.  Increased communication is noticed immediately.

We need to adapt our behavior in order to communicate effectively with others.  Participants leave the workshop energized and ready to apply the knowledge gained.  People will realize that differences are good and can be used effectively to make an organization successful.  The cost per assessment per participant varies based on the organization's choice of assessment tools available.
